Official Rules
August 5, 2008 - August 31, 2008
1. ELIGIBILITY: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN; PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE ODDS OF WINNING; NO PAYMENT IS NECESSARY TO WIN. OPEN ONLY TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES EIGHTEEN (18) YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER. GiftCertificates.com Corporation ("Sponsor" or "Website"), its subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, promotional partners, advertising and promotional agencies, employees, agencies and investors (collectively, the "Participating Entities"), and families of each are not eligible to win the prize. All applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Offer void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited by law.
2. DISCLAIMER: The Participating Entities will not be responsible for: (a) any late, lost, misrouted, garbled, distorted or damaged entries or transmissions or any postage due on entries; or (b) any Sweepstakes disruptions, injuries, losses or damages that may be caused by events beyond the control of Sponsor; or (c) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Sweepstakes.
3. ENTRY PERIOD: The entry period ("Entry Period") for the GiftCertificates.com "Back To School 2008 Sweepstakes" the "Sweepstake") begins at 12:01 a.m. Central Standard Time on 8/5/08 and ends at 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time on 8/31/08. Only entries received during the Entry Period will be eligible to win the prize. Sponsor's computer will be the official clock for this Sweepstakes.
4. HOW TO ENTER: To enter, the entrant ("Entrant") must submit his or her name and Biographical Information (as defined below) to the Sponsor. Submissions may be made by visiting www.GiftCertificates.com/B2S08_sweeps. All electronic entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of the entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Entrants may also submit their Biographical Information (as defined below) by mail to: GiftCertificates.com, Back To School 08 Sweepstakes, 11510 Blondo St., Omaha, NE 68164.
5. FORM OF ENTRY AND OWNERSHIP: Entries may be submitted electronically by visiting www.GiftCertificates.com/B2S08_sweeps or by mailing the Entrant's Biographical Information (as defined below) to: GiftCertificates.com, Back To School 08 Sweepstakes, 11510 Blondo St., Omaha, NE 68164. Entries submitted by mail must be postmarked by or before August 28, 2008. Limit one entry per person, regardless of method of entry.
6. USE OF BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION AND LIKENESS: Entrant is responsible for submitting with each entry Entrant's full name, street address (including city, state and zip code), daytime phone number (with area code), a valid email address, and date of birth (collectively, "Biographical Information") regardless of method of entry. Entries that omit any of this information will be ruled invalid and will not be considered for entry. Submission of entry constitutes Entrant's permission to use Entrant's Biographical Information, prize information, and/or likeness, without limitation, for purposes of advertising and promotion without further permission or compensation, except where prohibited by law. As a condition of receiving any prize, winners will be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and an additional confirmation of their agreement to the terms of these Official Rules, including without limitation Entrantís assignment to Sponsor of their rights in their submission and license to Publicity Rights (defined below), without any right to compensation or an accounting, except where prohibited by law.
7. SUBMISSION OF MULTIPLE AND DUPLICATE ENTRIES: One entry per Person. Submission of duplicate or substantially similar entries by the same Entrant will void all entries submitted by that Entrant.
8. WINNER SELECTION: Winners will be randomly selected on or about September 4, 2008 (the "Announcement Date"). One (1) Grand Prize winner will be randomly selected from the pool of Entrants. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received. The Winner will be notified via telephone, email, and/or US Mail within five (5) days after the Announcement Date. Winner must contact the Sponsor within five (5) days of notification in order to claim prize. Failure of Winner to contact the Sponsor or return of any prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner solely at Sponsor's discretion. Sponsor will use reasonable efforts to select an alternate winner but in the event one cannot be reasonably determined, the prize will not be awarded.
9. PRIZE: The Grand Prize Winner will receive a collection of the following gift cards or certificates, totaling $1,000 in face value: $500 Staples
10. GENERAL RELEASE; LICENSE: By submitting an entry, Entrant irrevocably and unconditionally releases the Participating Entities from liability of any kind or nature for any loss, claims, costs, damages, or injuries of any kind associated with participation in the Sweepstakes or acceptance, possession, participation in or use of any prize or Sweepstakes materials (including without limitation rights of publicity or privacy, defamation, and portrayal in a false light), whether under a theory of contract, tort (including negligence), warranty or other theory. Entrants accept and agree to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the Sponsor relating to participation in Sweepstakes, selection of winners and awarding of the prize, whose decisions are final. Where permitted by law, Entrant hereby licenses and grants Participating Entities royalty-free, worldwide license rights to use Entrant's name, likeness, image, voice and statements (collectively, the "Publicity Rights") in and in connection with the works that contain or use the Publicity Rights or for any other lawful purpose whatsoever in any media whatsoever now known or hereinafter developed, including, without limitation, in connection with advertising related to Sponsor's products and services without further compensation.

12. DISQUALIFICATION; SUSPENSION OF SWEEPSTAKES: Website reserves the right to disqualify any person who tampers with, or intentionally infects with a virus, any of the networks, servers or computers that are used in this promotion. Sponsor reserves the right to suspend or terminate the Sweepstakes in the event the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes is jeopardized.

14. WINNERS LIST; RULES REQUEST: Names of the winner will be posted on www.GiftCertificates.com/B2S08_sweeps on or about 9/10/2008 and will remain posted for five (5) days thereafter.
15. INTERNET: Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, mutilated or illegible entries/requests nor for electronic transmission errors resulting in omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions or limitations of any kind, or inaccurate transmissions of or failure to receive entry information by Sponsor or presenter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or any combination thereof. If for any reason the Internet portion of the program is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this sweepstakes, the Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the sweepstakes. Caution: Any attempt by any person to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the game is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent of the law.
15. MISCELLANEOUS: The Sweepstakes and these Official Rules will be governed, construed, and interpreted under the laws of the State of Nebraska. Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding in all respects. Sponsor reserves the right to change these Official Rules at any time, in its sole discretion, and to suspend or cancel the Sweepstakes or any Entrant's participation in the Sweepstakes should viruses, bugs, unauthorized human intervention or other causes beyond Sponsor's control affect the administration, security or proper play of the Sweepstakes, or Sponsor otherwise becomes (as determined in its sole discretion) incapable of running the Sweepstakes as planned. Entrants who violate these Official Rules, tamper with the operation of the Sweepstakes or engage in any conduct that is detrimental or unfair to Sponsor, the Sweepstakes or any other Entrant (in each case as determined in Sponsor's sole discretion) are subject to disqualification from entry into the Sweepstakes. All materials submitted become the sole property of Sponsor. Non-compliance will result in forfeiture of prize and an alternate winner may be selected. All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.
